pickupFor gross generalizations purposes I think people fall into 3 different categories and I am going to rant about it.

Different types:

1.  Anything is possible and I am going to keep pursuing what ever I want until I get it.  If it doesn’t work and I get knocked down, face rejection, I stand up brush off my shoulders and carry on. Over and over again, no matter what!!

2.  Then there are the people who have big dreams and goals but when they face rejection or difficulty, they crumble and shrink back.  They are always waiting for the perfect time and plan to take action again so they don’t have to suffer failure.  Not taking that class or following through on the work that it really takes to succeed.  Instead they complain that they don’t get it but never want to put the time and work in to achieve their goals.

3.  Then there is the type of person who thinks that nothing can work and basically the world is out to get them.  The ones that think life sucks and there is not point because “bad shit happens to good people.” The ones that don’t bother to try but complain about their shitty life all the time.

Honestly I am fed up and I am talking the gloves off.   I am not going to sugar coat my opinions and placate to anyone so if you don’t like my twisted version of reality don’t read my stuff.

For me success and achieving your goals all comes down to having a positive out look and being willing to try over and over again in the face of rejection.

Fuck rejection, IT DOES NOT MATTER.

Fuck failure, IF SOMETHING DOESN’T WORK TRY SOMETHING ELSE.

Fuck the fact that it takes a lot of work, DO OR DON’T BUT STOP WASTING YOUR AND MY TIME IF YOU DON’T WANT TO DO WHAT IT TAKES.

How do you expect to get anywhere in life if you don’t try and fail and try again.   Try again a thousand times or a million times.  What ever it takes,  that is my mentality.

Winston Churchill failed sixth grade. He was subsequently defeated in every election for public office until he became Prime Minister at the age of 62. He later wrote, “Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never – in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never, Never, Never, Never give up.” (his capitals, mind you)

motivation

I’ve been working on inner confidence extensively lately and its brought up some major issues.  Mostly around internal mentalities on how I think society conditions us to think about  success. Always affirming that one day we will be successful rock stars with out any work.

I’ve found in business and especially in self-improvement most people want others to take responsibility for their situation or their own personal self-improvement.  Even I see myself doing it.  Especially in the past putting my own in-action and blame on other people.  Be it for motivation or having other people prod me to take action.  I think especially in the community everyone is looking for a quick fix or some one to solve their problems.

People want some one else to hold them accountable, force them to go out, force them to talk to strangers, or get them going on a new project.

Coach them through every step of the way. I see this over and over again.  Only now do I see that I do it to an extent to.  The first step to solving this I think is to realize its going on and to take full responsibility for yourself.

Sure its nice to have a wing man to force you into sets.

Sure its nice to have a buddy calling you up and dragging you out.

Sure its nice to have a specified path to follow to get where you want.

BUT

When it comes down to is actually doing it and doing it for yourself.  You can be shown the way but it comes down to taking your own steps.  BY YOUR SELF. Your guru can show you the door and point you in the right direction but what it comes down to is ONLY you can do it.   This is your life!  Your wing man won’t always be their for you.  This paragraph won’t always be in front of you to motivate you.

That is why I think its extremely important to start Read the rest of this entry »

Tonight I had a great meeting of minds with Legend.  We sat down at his place and just hashed out a bunch of stuff…  talked about the seduction community, about men and women, about goals and dreams, about life in general…  It was a great talk.

Truth is, as I said in my previous post, I have shifted in my mentality about pick-up, the community, women and life in general.  I think my last post stirred everyone up a bit and to be honest, I am happy about that.  If we’ve got a site, why not shake things up?  Why not make this a place where we rock the world?

With that said, I had been putting off posting for a while because posting here just wasn’t jiving with where my head is at these days.  After Legend and I talked it out, the vision of this site and what I want for it popped back into focus.  This is a site where we are raw.  This is a site where we discuss becoming a great man (or put better, even more of a great man) who is great with women.

So in that vein, I had a thought about how I let this slide and how crappy it felt internally.  I wasn’t on top Read the rest of this entry »

And that’s a great thing.

This is going to seem like a contradictory post from my first one last week but it’s more of a compliment. To prove such I’ll start by using another Tyler Durden quote.

“I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let’s evolve, let the chips fall where they may.”

While you may have goals and specific things that you may want to accomplish when it comes to pickup and your overall personal development, it’s important to understand that this thing called “life” will happen and in an instant, change the game on you. The key to your success journey is to just go with it.

When I finished school and went back to Boston, I had absolutely NO clue what was going to happen. I had visions of living with a few of my best friends, getting a kick ass job in design and being able to hang out with my old high school friends again, since I didn’t get to hang with them for nearly 5 years.

None of those things happened.

I ended up living at home with my parents, couldn’t get a job in Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone has certain things that motivate them.  We all know that motivation comes in cycles or waves.  Sometimes you feel like doing a lot and other times you don’t really feel doing anything. We get in moods, grooves, and sometimes ruts.

Just recently I have been taking a hard look at what I do mentally that either motivates me to take action or keeps me complacent.   Lately its been winter and that really slows me down.  I’ve been inside more and going out less.  Then I took a nice vacation in Miami so I’ve really been off the ball.

Now as spring approaches I feel a new breath.

Time to amp it up.  Get back to my roots and really push it to the next level.

Taking a hard look at how my brain operates.. I am usually in one of three modes.

Mode one:

I’ll do it later.  There is no point to doing it now.  Fake excuses and complacency.  This happens from time to time and a lot when I am not taking action.

Mode two:

Anger and motivation mode.  I find that personally I get frustrated Read the rest of this entry »

A long time ago I brought out my rules for having a good night every night. I spent weeks whittling them down into a fool proof plan of action that would allow me to be “on” every time I followed them. Needless to say, it was a long list and I wasn’t very good at doing all of it on a consistent basis. Over time I have perfected every step on that list, but one of them.

On this trend I’ve been thinking about the fundamentals to self-improvement.

Here is my collection of ideas as I see them now to really set goals and become successful at anything. I am going to use this system to implement massive change in my actions in 2009. It took over six months for me to come up with intricacies of the system for myself, but now that I know exactly how to move forward correctly all I have to do is follow my own advice.

This is a skeletal system and going to go much more in depth in a video that I will post on the blog sometime in late February or early March. Look forward to it.

The preface to success is action.

The key to success is ACTION.
