I read an article recently by my good buddy Thundercat that said:

“But what Mystery does, though teachable, is very much a style tailored to Mystery. He is successful at what he does because no one else can really imitate him. That’s what makes Tyler so amazing to observe. Tyler does the same things as Mystery, but WITHOUT the magic tricks. Yet he is still able to create IMMENSE value for himself. How does he do this? Well, from what I’ve gathered, his method is more relatable to normal guys like me, because anyone with the proper skillset can use Tyler’s methods to create value for themselves.”

One of our readers (who’s an all around good guy) recently asked me, “Have you made any posts about identity?”

Not yet, actually. Legend and I have both touched on different ideas for how we manage our “avatar” (the image that people see and draw impressions from in a social environment), but I don’t think either of us have touched on the core issue of identity.

I think identity is a core and sacred topic. I want to be very frank in saying that this is an area I struggled with for years - I was very unclear and confused about who I was. These days, I have a very clear idea of my identity (though I continue to explore myself, as that is life). I want to share what my epiphanies were in terms of my own self and identity discovery.

Everyone has been talking a lot about “natural game”, but I am going to poke fun at it as Edge would say. I have talked to a lot of people about it recently and all they seem to say is just do it. But when questioned further about how to do it no one can seem to come up with a concrete example except you should already be doing it. Plain and simple just do it. All in all I’ve just been doing it for a while and it doesn’t work that way.

You can’t create something out of nothing, you need a game plan. I think a lot of the community has gone natural as a marketing gimmick and as a way to fix a routine junkie. I think if you’ve been practicing routines for years, it becomes natural as long as you’re not still reciting word for word.

I want to take a look back at routine-based game and how it really works. I want to take the best of the natural mentality and combine it with a strong natural routine-based game.
