I don't hear many guys in the community talking about this phenomenon, but I do often tell my clients, "I can help you have the success you want with women, but before we do that, I want you to know that getting laid is not going to make you happy." What makes most people happy is getting in touch with their life passion and purpose: finding their "dharma." Another thing that makes people happy is connecting with other people in a relaxed, authentic, and not-so-goal-oriented way. This intense focus on getting laid for the sake of getting laid is, for the most part, a dead end. I also encourage people to move out of the whole hope/disappointment cycle that a lot of guys in the community succumb to, and cultivate a state of openness instead. With openness, it's easier to enjoy the moment regardless of what result is achieved. Which, paradoxically, results in getting laid (or, as a woman, getting seduced) more often ...
