Legend – Implementing Lasting Change

by Legend

in Technique

A long time ago I brought out my rules for having a good night every night. I spent weeks whittling them down into a fool proof plan of action that would allow me to be “on” every time I followed them. Needless to say, it was a long list and I wasn’t very good at doing all of it on a consistent basis. Over time I have perfected every step on that list, but one of them.

On this trend I’ve been thinking about the fundamentals to self-improvement.

Here is my collection of ideas as I see them now to really set goals and become successful at anything. I am going to use this system to implement massive change in my actions in 2009. It took over six months for me to come up with intricacies of the system for myself, but now that I know exactly how to move forward correctly all I have to do is follow my own advice.

This is a skeletal system and going to go much more in depth in a video that I will post on the blog sometime in late February or early March. Look forward to it.

The preface to success is action.

The key to success is ACTION.

If you don’t act and you do not take baby steps and then leaps in the direction that you want to go, you will never get there. You cannot live and be successful on hopes and dreams. We need action, we need repeated action in ways not to get stuck and hung up on failures or be bogged down in mediocrity. This is how I see it now and I will apply these and modify them, it is a working set.

Goals are just dreams with a deadline, without a plan of action.

The system

This is a short summary and I will expand on it much more in the near future but these are the basic ideas.

1.Goals

Write down the goals to which you’ll hold yourself accountable. Create over-arching goals which are things that will take months or years to accomplish.

Create step-by-step goals that you can work on every day to move yourself towards your over-arching end goal.

Only you can hold yourself accountable

2.Motivation

Motivation is the key preface to actually taking action. It is very important to consciously realize what you’re motivating yourself with so you can maintain motivation. A great tool is a visualization board. What isn’t right in front of us we tend to forget so get the things that motivate you right in fort of you. Put the things that motivate you in the forefront of your thought and if possible and visually in your room.

Use only positive motivation to prevent negative motivation Snap back. (Loss of motivation)

3.Action

Plain and simple if you don’t take action nothing will happen.

Take baby steps in the direction you want because starting is always the hardest part.

4. Momentum

The less you, do the less you want to do. The more you do, the more you want to do and the more you will do. Every choice is a direction in action. Use momentum and repeated action to spiral your results upward and forward.

5. There is no end

There is no end. This is a cyclical process from the fundamental and basics all the way to the advanced things that you do. Every day you must repeatedly take action and remember the steps that you took to get you to where you are today. We must always remember to do the basics until they become habit and you do them with out thinking.

This is a rough overview of my system I will go into greater detail in a future release.

Couldn’t write this any better. Great post!

I always tell guys that no one gets lucky. People create their own luck by taking ACTION on the opportunities that come along.

Momentum allows your mind to be more open to more opportunities with leads you to different stages of success toward your goals.

Great post Legend.

Infinity – I like your comment too… I agree with you and I also think that the belief you are conveying is a good strategy.

When people believe that really successful people are just lucky, they shut off the creative part of their brains that looks for solutions and inspiration.

Believing that luck is created by action inspires the actions required to get to the goal, whatever it is.
