Something I noticed in myself recently: Now that I am pursuing BIG goals, I just don’t get caught up in the small stuff anymore.
Doesn’t mean I don’t get stressed – I do. But I don’t get affected at all by the little stuff anymore because my focus is so firmly planted on the big picture.
You know those times when you say something and it just doesn’t “hit” right? Or you make a less-than-graceful move?
Those moments would be embarrassing for me before and I would reflect on it. Not for a while or at any extreme level, but maybe 30 seconds of feeling embarrassed. Now I really don’t give a shit at all!
It’s pretty to awesome and ties into something that Legend and I have been talking about lately. That is: become the value. Don’t take the value. Don’t even try to “give value“. No, BE the value.
I believe that as I pursue my BIG goals, others can sense my drive, determination and ambition. It’s no secret that women love guys with these qualities and I know it’s helping my game.
But I’m not “acting” like I have drive, ambition or determination. I am actually BEING those things because I really am doing everything I can to become a great man and successful in my life.
I love studying dating tips, pick-up artist (PUA) material, seduction techniques, etc., but I learn about it to enhance my social skills, not BE them. In other words, I am building up my life and just using what I learn in PUA-land as an enhancement, not as a sheer curtain to drape over who I actually am.
I would say that’s the way to go. Style (Neil Strauss) had a life before learning to be a PUA. So did Mystery. So did a lot of these guys.
I see some guys that have done nothing to forward their lives other than putting EVERY ounce of their effort into learning pick-up. And guess what? I was this guy for a long time too. (Well, not only was I that guy, but I also wasn’t applying it with action – I was just reading stuff and discussing it! That’s the absolute worst place to be.)
Since Legend and I started Pick-up Evolution, I’ve really started investing in my life in general to be the best man that I can possibly be. I would say that enhancing your life and pursuing your dreams in EVERY area in addition to pick-up might just be the best PUA tip I’ve found yet!
