It’s going to be those cold, dark winter months soon. Generally speaking, a lot of people tend to feel “down” in the wintertime. Sluggish, moody, lethargic, sad, etc. I have been one of those people, but in recent years it has been better. Let’s talk about some of the things I do to counteract the wintertime effect.

  • 5-HTP: Most people have heard of the neurotransmitter, serotonin Stanley Cuba movie 2012 trailer Carnivorous psp . Basically it’s one of the chemicals in our brain that makes us feel happy and well. It is a mood regulator.5-HTP
    Flash Point movie

is the chemical precursor to serotonin. And melatonin (which regulates your body’s sleep schedule) is the precursor to 5-HTP.So why am I sharing this here? Because as the days get shorter and it for more of our waking hours, our bodies release more melatonin to regulate our sleeping patterns. Since there is less melatonin available, our bodies will not be able to make as much 5-HTP. And with less 5-HTP available, our bodies will have less serotonin available than during those sunny summer months. The result is a dampened mood.I have begun taking 5-HTP capsules

    Simple Things movie

every day for the last month and I have been phenomonally productive and upbeat lately, so it’s possible that it’s helping. I linked up the ones I buy on Amazon if you want to get the kind I get. (Disclaimer: This is not medical advice – I am not a doctor. Obviously consult your physician and do your own research, too.)

  • Regular exercise: Everyone makes a point of saying how exercise releases endorphins and how that’s a good thing, etc. etc. Exercise does a ton of good things for our bodies and our minds. If you don’t feel like your psychology and/or body is where you want it to be, you owe it to yourself to start exercising regularly. If you already do, great. You’re awesome.Seriously though, whenever I find myself in a funk, it’s almost always consistent with when I’ve let my exercise routine slip. Face it, humans weren’t meant to sit in front of a computer all day long. Physical activity is essential for a healthy mind.
  • Sleep: Respect your sleep schedule. It’s a no-brainer, everyone knows that sleep is important. Yet, for years I did not respect my sleeping schedule. I would stay up late, go some days with very little sleep, choose different bed times depending on what I was doing that day, etc.Now that I have to be a responsible adult, I go to sleep and wake up at roughly the same time everyday. I avoid drinking liquids at night so that I don’t have to wake up to pee in the middle of the night. I try to get 8 hours a day, but realistically it’s usually 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Still, I am sure that is more than the average person my age gets.

Hope those tips are useful to you guys. They help me out. And the better the mood you are in, the better you’ll be when meeting new women.

If you have a suggestion of something that helps you lift your mood or state, throw a comment up.

A lot of good information that people should follow. If anything, follow the exercise point. Not only does it make you feel better and more energetic but it releases testosterone into your body. Makes your sex drive increase dramatically.

Also, on the picture, love the red panties on the left and white panties right next to red. :D

    Awesome post Edge!

I also want to add, a healthy diet and having a few fun things mixed in with work things. It has helped me a lot recently to mix it up and start a healthy diet. more energy and a change of pace.

I also believe that excise and sleep are key. getting enough of both will general improve your mood as well as your health!

Yeah – good call on the healthy diet. I feel much better when I’m eating a regular diet of chicken, vegetables, oatmeal, almonds, plenty of water vs. a regular diet of fast food. I’ve tried both… there’s a big difference between how I felt on each one. :)

I haven’t kept up with drinking lots of water. Time for me to start that habit again. I feel so “healthy” and “clear” when I’m drinking a lot of water.

Drinking lots of water is a given. I used to drink cokes all the time. I couldn’t go a day without one. I was able to go through a 12-pack in a day easy.

Of course, that was back in high school and first year in college. Around summer 2006, I started drinking tons of water every day. I feel so much better and have more energy than I’ve had in long time. I’ve dropped about 100lbs as well.

100 lbs? That is incredible – nice job man.

I’m glad you posted up a comment because that inspires me to take action myself. I’m going to grab some water right now in fact…

I’m certainly guilty of not taking my sleep seriously.
I make that sacrifice when i have to work late most nights

Yeah I agree Blade. I used to not take it as seriously but I find if I am not rested I don’t get anything done. Its a vital part of every day life.
