emotional stateChasing State:

While I think it’s great to be in state while your out, being in state is probably the least important thing in pickup because you absolutely don’t need it to accomplish anything. State is nothing more than a tool for you to use. Furthermore, by worrying about being in state or waiting for it to happen, you’re shooting yourself in the foot instead of just getting on with having fun. Waiting to be in state is counterproductive and will actually throw you into a vicious cycle of negative feelings. Forget about “trying” to be in state. Go out and have fun.

2 Kinds of State: Validation Based State and Pure State Along with chasing state you want to avoid validation based state. There are so many guys out there who use attention from girls as fuel for “being in state”. When they get IOI’s from girls they emotionally react to them, taking their feelings of being happy and channeling that into a state they normally aren’t in. Doing this on a consistent basis is actually using validation in a way that hurts them in the long run and will cause them to be state dependent and “addicted” to “state. In other words, they are taking energy from an external source and using it to motivate them. Breaking free from being addicted to Validation Based State is not easy because the person has to completely retrain themselves.

On the other end of the scale, Pure State is when you’re happy being Read the rest of this entry »

We are going to start having some new guest blogger’s from time to time. Our first one is going to be Sin. That’s right Mystery’s original wing and original co-instructor. He is the guy that taught Style ( Neil Strauss) in his first workshop. He has some great insights that no one in the community talks about. You guys know we rarely ever plug anyone here on PUE but I believe this guy has some amazing and unique value.

Addition / Update:

Edge: I think it’s going to be great.

Legend and I talked about it a few nights ago. There have been community figures that have reached out to us before to do a straight up product plug and we’ve refused. It’s just not worth compromising our integrity to make a few bucks.

What Legend is talking about here is giving community figures an opportunity to Read the rest of this entry »

Mystery’s approach to gaming is very inspiring. One of the major elements to his game that I want to integrate into myself is the ability to think of everything as practice. Somehow to detach my ego from each individual interaction.

If you look at everything scientifically, almost like a social experiment, you can remove the rejection element. I believe in fully embracing rejection on one side, but at the same time there must be a way to look at everything as just practice. Get rid of the whole rejection frame. This will allow us to really go after the girl that we really want. We are all here to develop a skill set. Once I integrate this, everything will be much easier. I believe the key to it is detaching your EGO from each and every interaction. This will allow us to really pull ourselves back out of the interaction and at the same time push each interaction without the outcome weighing on us.

If you go up to a girl and it doesn’t Read the rest of this entry »

Digital Native Generation and Technology\'s Impact on Social Skills
I recently read an article on Yahoo! News about how scientists believe our technology could be “rewiring our brains”.

Feel free to check it out here: Scientists ask: Is Technology Rewiring Our Brains?

The article was interesting, but fairly superficial – it did not get into specifics of how exactly they believe the brain is being rewired.

Now I am totally in the “digital native group”. I’ve been on computers all my life. I wrote my first program in BASIC when I was in first grade. I’ve been downloading MP3s since 1998. I played the original Warcraft before it had it’s own world.

And yeah, I do believe that technology is pulling away the younger generations (below 30 years old) from developing core social skills. It’s reasonable to think that if someone spends less time with people in social settings they’re going to have less social skills and less “street smarts” than someone who spends plenty of time in social situations. That’s a no-brainer.

On the other hand, I think that any “re-wiring” of our brains Read the rest of this entry »
