Ever since the beginning of 2010, I have been dedicated to losing the fat that I semi-intentionally gained in my efforts to master “bulking up”.

As soon as I said good-bye to fast food, I very quickly realized that I needed to figure out how to cook.  Quite frankly, unseasoned chicken and broccoli gets pretty boring, pretty fast.

So when I started to learn to cook, I learned that black pepper and garlic powder can really punch up a variety of foods I already was eating.  So I was throwing garlic powder and black pepper on everything.

And you know what?  It worked… my food tasted better than it used to and I was able to get the result I wanted without a lot of extra effort or time invested.

But after a short while, everything I ate tasted like some variation of pepper and garlic.  I had one cooking strategy that worked, but it was only going to take me so far.  And there were some foods that could be made much better with different seasonings that I hadn’t experimented with.

On the other hand, there were hundreds of options out there that I could try and frankly, I didn’t have the time or the patience to figure them all out.  Moreover, I would flip out if I worked hard to make something only to end up destroying it by seasoning it wrong or putting on too much seasoning.

So I did the most intelligent thing I could think of:  I turned to the internet.  And once I was on the internet, I did the second most intelligent thing I could think of:  I sought out people who were already great at doing what I wanted to be doing and studied their “recipes” for success.

(If anyone hasn’t recognized that this is a thinly-veiled metaphor for learning to pick-up / seduce women better, then let me assure you that this is what it is…)

Now over the past 6-7 weeks, I have been Read the rest of this entry »

It feels good to be posting again.  I’m super busy these days, but I wanted to share a story on here that is very relevant to getting real success with picking up women.

Like I said, I’ve been busy.  And while I’ve been busy, I had taken on some bad eating habits and stopped going to the gym.  As you can imagine, I gained some weight.

Growing up, I was always a skinny kid.  And I mean skinny – I wanted to put on muscle but I didn’t know how and anything I ate burned to vapor the second it hit my stomach (I know that might sound great to some people, but being a lanky, skinny kid isn’t exactly a picnic either.)

In 2005, I had read up on how to gain a lot of muscle.  And I mean, I went all out – I read tons of information about nutrition, fitness, exercise, etc.  I followed the “bulking” diet to the letter.

I was confident in the reading that I had done and I followed my program religiously.  I ate every meal at the time I was supposed to, I measured out all the food exactly as it should have been and I worked out HARD, just like the program prescribed.

Fact was, I wanted the results of being a bigger, muscular guy, so I was willing to put in the serious time and effort.

How did it work out? Well, Read the rest of this entry »

When I started Pick-up Evolution with Legend, it was my intent to create the type of website I would want to read. That is, if it was going to be about pick-up artist techniques and theory, I wanted it to be based on real world experience. If it was going to be a place where we shared our experiences, it was going to be a raw recollection of what ended up happening.

During mid-2008 through the end of the year it was just that: A raw report of what Legend and I were learning, our experiences and our trail & error. Plus our thoughts and experiences with motivation, learning pick-up artist techniques / seduction, self-improvement and life experiences.

When we started PuE, I was already saying that the market was saturated with pick-up artist products that were all essentially rehashes of the same material (many of which were “clones” of Mystery Method). Legend and I felt that everything that was being said in 2008 had already been said before and it was time that the “seduction community” (aka guys who actively want to be better with women) start moving into new territory.

At the beginning of 2009, we decided to Read the rest of this entry »

153374055_e2ce6493aaI was having a conversation with some guys about the seduction community this past Saturday night.

These were guys that had read up on a bunch of material, read “The Game”, etc.  We were sharing our thoughts on the techniques mentioned in that book and a lot of the techniques that have come and gone in the seduction community.

I want to make a comment about the seduction community and how it came to be.  The seduction community started out during the late 80’s/early 90’s.  Feminism was rampant and the pendulum of political correctness had swung WAAAY over to an almost anti-male sentiment.  I feel like there are still some lingering after-effects of that time even today, but for the most part, the era of extreme male bashing and feminazism has past.

Still, it was during that time that Speed Seduction came to be.  In fact, as Neil Strauss mentions in “The Game”, that was also the time when the internet was beginning to form.  It didn’t look like the internet we know today, but nerdy kids like me can remember the days of BBS (Bulletin Board Systems), Echo-mail and Newsgroups.

This atmosphere helped form a cohesion among men wanting to improve their skills with women.  Think about it.  Men were afraid to speak frankly about wanting to be successful Read the rest of this entry »

housepartypuaLegend and I were talking recently about this whole game.  Call it what you want:  dating skills, learning how to be great in a relationship, learning game, being a pick-up artist, etc.

I discovered the materials of the seduction community/pick-up arts 10 years ago and I have been a student ever since.  Thing is, how I have perceived this area of my life and how I have pursued it has changed dramatically over the years.  This is all stuff I have talked about in prior posts, so I am not going to repeat myself.

What I want to talk about here is the idea of “gaming without game“.  What do I mean by that?

Well, the seduction community’s mentality has generally been that solid “game” is to learn some psychological tricks/manipulations and then to deliver them through conversation in one way or another.

Now, in the past few years the concept of “the natural” has been introduced, but nobody has really been able to pin down the concept of being a natural other than to convey it through vague philosophies and by painting tantalizing pictures of having effortless, seamless “game” by just having a good vibe.  I want to make clear that that is not what I am talking about here.

So what am I talking about when I say gaming without game?

I will Read the rest of this entry »

girl95 Like I said… I am committed to writing about real stuff on this blog and this post is kind of difficult to write about for me.

I was really depressed for a while up until recently. I was riding high for a while – I was really on top of my life, taking on a lot of projects, being really productive.  I was fulfilled in many respects since I felt like I was doing things that mattered and I was accomplishing things that were meaningful to me.

On the flip side of things, I was obsessed with my work and my pursuit of success. I had a relationship at the time and I really didn’t feel motivated to go out and be social.  “What’s the point,” I thought, “I would rather keep working on what I’m doing.  I’m not looking to meet girls – I’ve got one.  I don’t feel like conversing with a bunch of drunk people.  I’d rather just keep working and moving myself forward.”

Now, I knew I was isolating myself, but I really didn’t care all that much.  I loved the feeling of being productive and doing things to develop my career and my future.

All the meanwhile, Legend kept saying, “You need to take breaks, man.  You need to balance out your life.”

And I would say, I know, I know, you’re right.  But I didn’t – I dumped everything else other than work.  I stopped exercising, stopped eating healthy food, stopped doing anything for entertainment (other than watching a movie or a TV show at the end of the night when I saw my girlfriend), stopped doing yoga.

So when it came time for my vacation in Read the rest of this entry »
